Mancherial: The BJP Telangana disciplinary committee has issued show-cause notices to former Peddapalli MP Dr B Venkatesh Netha and BJP Peddapalli Parliamentary segment in-charge Gomase Srinivas, seeking an explanation within three days on why disciplinary action should not be taken against them.

The party’s disciplinary committee convener, Ravindranath Vishwanth, issued the letter on Wednesday following reports that the two leaders engaged in an altercation during the BJP State president N Ramchander Rao’s tour of Vemanapalli mandal recently.

The two were accused of bringing disrepute to the party by violating organisational norms and abusing each other during the visit. Rao had visited Kothaguda village in Vemanapalli mandal to console the family members of BJP Vemanapalli mandal president Eta Madhukar, who died by suicide on October 14 allegedly due to harassment by certain Congress leaders.

According to reports, Venkatesh Netha objected to Srinivas addressing him by name and allegedly warned that he would slap and strip him for using abusive language. He reportedly lost his temper and attempted to attack Srinivas but was restrained by other party leaders and Rao.
