BJP least bothered about Telangana’s welfare: Niranjan Reddy
Agriculture Minister stated that the BJP had done nothing for Telangana since it came to power, and instead had shelved many projects sanctioned by the previous governments
Hyderabad: Lashing out at the BJP, Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy challenged the party’s State leaders to persuade the Centre and resolve the long-pending issues in the State in a time-bound manner.
He stated that the BJP had done nothing for Telangana since it came to power, and instead had shelved many projects sanctioned by the previous governments.
In a statement on Sunday, Niranjan Reddy said the BJP-led Union government had failed to do justice to Telangana, which was achieved after decades of oppression and struggle.
As per the State Reorganisation Act, Telangana was assured of Tirbal University, a railway coach factory at Kazipet, among others. But these promises are yet to be fulfilled, he said. “Telangana has been appealing for national status for Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigatin Scheme and and Palamuru Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme. There has been no word from the Centre on these appeals” said Niranjan Reddy.
The BJP was focusing only on seeking votes from Telangana people but was least bothered about the State’s welfare, he said, adding that BJP leaders in the State should desist from cheap politics and making baseless allegations.
