Mancherial: A suicide note, purportedly written by BJP Vemanapalli mandal president Eta Madhukar, went viral on social media on Saturday.
In the note, Madhukar stated that he was ending his life as he could not bear the mental harassment and humiliation following a case registered against him under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. He alleged that the case was filed at the behest of Congress leaders and sought strict action against those responsible for abetting his suicide.
Madhukar claimed that the leaders bore a grudge against his rise in politics and named Congress leaders Rudrabhatla Santosh, Gali Madhu and Chintakindi Kamala as responsible for his death. He also urged the BJP to extend support to his family after his demise.
The 45-year-old BJP leader reportedly died by hanging on the outskirts of Kothagudem hamlet under Neelwai gram panchayat in Vemanapalli mandal on Friday. His death triggered protests by BJP workers demanding action against those named in the note.
