Nizamabad: Armoor BJP MLA P Rakesh Reddy has alleged that the Hindu population in Hyderabad was maintaining silence on the act of vandalism at the Muthyalamma temple in Secunderabad area recently.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Rakesh Reddy said it was a matter of shame that the Hindus didn’t retaliate and remained silent spectators. The silence had come to characterize our psyche and one that had remained unchanged for centuries, he said.

“Why is there silence over the desecration of the temple? Why are even the ordinary Hindus not speaking up? Not even a single Hindu has the courage to attack the place of worship of other religions.”he said.

Coming down heavily on Congress government, the BJP MLA alleged that the way temples were being targeted looked like Congress government was behind it.

“Whenever attacks take place on temples, the government takes some measures and then again the issue is left. On the other hand, whenever attacks takes place at the place of worship of other religions, the government acts swiftly,” he alleged.
