Hyderabad: BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, stating that BJP never indulged in communal or vote-bank politics, accused the TRS of trying to derive political mileage by instigating Telangana sentiment.

Countering Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s remarks that BJP triggers communal differences, Sanjay said the Chief Minister spoke about ‘hijab’ issue on Sunday despite Supreme Court orders not to discuss the issue. “The sole agenda of Chandrashekhar Rao is to defame the BJP government at the Centre,” he told mediapersons here on Monday.

Objecting to the Chief Minister’s remarks on rampant corruption at the Centre, the BJP leader said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was an honest person delivering a corruption-free governance.

“During covid pandemic, the Prime Minister announced Rs 20,000 crore package under Atmanirbhar Bharat. Beneficiaries were getting money directly and this has not gone well with the Chief Minister,” Sanjay Kumar said.

Defending the surgical strikes by armed forces, the BJP State president said except for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Chandrashekhar Rao, the entire nation was celebrating the success of armed forces.

Accusing that the Chief Minister was following the script forwarded by Congress, he said the Supreme Court had given a clean chit to the Centre on the Rafale deal.
