Hyderabad: Tearing into the BJP leadership for attempting to mislead voters in Dubbak, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said they were trying to enact a political drama claiming to be victims of political vendetta. He reminded that by-election was being conducted by the Election Commission of India and the police as well as other authorities were acting on its directions including money seizures.

Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan here on Tuesday, Srinivas Yadav rubbished the BJP claims that the TRS government was misusing its powers with the fear of losing the bypoll. He pointed out that it was BJP which had lost its deposits in the last two elections in Dubbak Assembly constituency. He said TRS will emerge as a clear winner and hence, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao did not send any other leader from outside Siddipet district for campaigning.

“Only the district incharge Minister T Harish Rao and local legislators are campaigning for our candidate, while BJP has sent its entire State leadership for campaigning. It clearly shows who is afraid of whom,” he said. He said the police conducted search operations in the houses of TRS leaders including Harish Rao and others.

The Minister ridiculed the claims of BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar that BJP candidate Raghunandan Rao was falsely being framed by the police who kept the money at the residence of an individual. He stated that the police have released all the videos where the accused had admitted to have received the amount from the relatives of the BJP candidate after handing over the amount which was kept in a safe. He warned that stealing money seized by the police was a serious offence.

Srinivas Yadav also found fault with Union Minister of State for Home and Secunderabad MP G Kishan Reddy and stated that rather than summoning the Siddipet police commissioner for explanation as the Union Minister, Kishan Reddy was resorting to political drama. He suggested that the BJP leaders approach the Election Commission to clear all doubts that they were raising among voters. He asked the BJP leaders to behave responsibly and contest the elections in a democratic manner rather than seeking votes by creating a ruckus. “The BJP leaders are enacting another drama in the name of laying seize to Pragathi Bhavan, DGP office and other locations. If a party with hardly any presence in the State hopes to create drama, what would they do if TRS with 60 lakh cadre does the same? Where will they go?” he questioned.

The Minister said the BJP leaders were also making false claims of funding the State government schemes like Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, and KCR Kits among others. He dared them to ask the Centre to make public any orders issued releasing funds to the State for these schemes. “At a time when the entire Hyderabad was suffering due to heavy rains and flash floods, several States including Delhi, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh among others have responded and gave funds towards flood relief. But the BJP-led government at the Centre did not release a paise. In fact, they are not even releasing the GST dues pending to the State,” he said.

MLCs M Srinivas Reddy and MS Prabhakar also spoke on the occasion.
