Amaravati: The Bharatiya Janata Party has rejected the proposal of the Telugu Desam Party to join hands to defeat the YSR Congress Party in the State.
TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu during the party’s Mahanadu last weekend, announced that he would seek the support of the BJP, Jana Sena Party and the Communists to defeat the YSRCP in the state. He also had been trying for rapprochement with the BJP for the past two years ever since the TDP’s dismal show during the general elections.
However, BJP incharge of Andhra Pradesh affairs Sunil Deodhar rejected the offer outright, with a scathing attack on the TDP supremo, recalling how the latter back stabbed his father-in-law NT Rama Rao in the past and later Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019. Chandrababu came out with the proposal as a desperate move to save the TDP from extinction, he tweeted, adding that the BJP would continue its fight against both the TDP and YSRCP in the state.
