Hyderabad: BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar has promised the voters of GHMC area that he would make the Corporation pay for the challans slapped on youth for minor traffic violations in the city if the party is elected in the GHMC elections.
Blaming the government for targeting only the younger population in the new city, he alleged that the police had no guts to impose similar penalties on traffic violations in the old city.
“Parents are purchasing motor vehicles for their children after much difficulty so that they can attend colleges. But they are fined for silly reasons, only because the government knows that the youth is strongly behind the BJP,” he explained. He also declared that the BJP will ensure a thorough survey of the extent of flood damage in the State and secure funds from the Centre. “If elected, we will sanction Rs 25,000 to every household, replace damaged furniture, cars and other vehicles,” he declared.
Replying to a question on possible alliance with Jana Sena Party of actor turned politician Pawan Kalyan, the BJP leader said the BJP will be contesting in all the divisions and has no arrangement with Jana Sena Party. “I and Pawan Kalyan have a very good rapport. However, Jana Sena did not formally approach us for an alliance and there is no such arrangement between the two parties,” he said.
