Hyderabad: Blaming BJP and TRS for “dividing society vertically”, Congress MP A Revanth Reddy said that efforts were being made to isolate and weaken Congress in the State. Both the parties have been using MIM to consolidate their vote bank, he said.
Addressing the media here on Thursday, the Malkajgiri MP said the MIM was helping the BJP at the national level by splitting the secular vote. “The tacit understanding between the saffron party and MIM was out in media glare during the recent Bihar elections,” he said. Citing the example of BJP MLA M Raghunandan Rao securing bail for MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, he said that both the parties were cheating the voters.
“The TRS has time and again supported the NDA government to pass crucial Bills. The BJP which claims to be the sole representative of Hindus in the country kept mum when temples were demolished in Secretariat,” Revanth Reddy said. He also wondered why State BJP chief Bandi Sanjay was not urging Minister of State for Home Affairs Kishan Reddy to take action against the culprits behind the forged letter he purportedly had written to stop flood relief to the people of Hyderabad.
