Khammam: The district CPI leaders accused the BJP state president Bandi Sanjay of trying to gain political mileage by making statements instigating the public. Speaking at a meeting of people’s organisations here on Monday the CPI state secretariat member B Hemanth Rao stated that the BJP leaders were daydreaming of winning Khammam Municipal Corporation elections.
The people in Khammam were politically aware and secular minded. BJP leaders’ tactics were of no use as the people would not support communal minded parties. The saffron party leaders were acting with over-confidence following victory in Dubbak and in GHMC elections, he said.
For the past 46 days the farming community was protesting in New Delhi demanding repealing of the newly passed Farm Laws. The BJP leaders here were trying to divert public attention from such protests with their rather cheap political stunts, Hemanth Rao alleged.
The CPI district secretary Potu Prasad wanted the BJP State leadership to answer why they have not opposed the merger of seven mandals in Kothagudem district into AP along with Sileru 440 MW hydropower project by the NDA government.
Similarly, Bandi Sanjay should answer why the Central government failed to construct a steel factory at Bayyaram as per the provisions made in AP State Bifurcation Act, The BJP leaders have no moral right to speak about corruption and political defections, he added.
The CPI leaders have called upon the public in Khammam to teach a fitting lesson to BJP which works for the corporate forces and was trying to instigate communal feelings for political mileage in Telangana.
