HYDERABAD: Stating that the BJP’s coming to power in Telangana rested in the hands of the party leaders here, Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri on Thursday said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s support would always be there for the BJP to achieve this.
“All the votes against BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao was cast in favour of Congress and Revanth Reddy became a Chief Minister by fluke. He has now turned into a joker,” Arvind said speaking to media persons here.
Before elections, people had high expectations and considered him to be a tiger but after 15 months in power, he turned out to be a paper tiger. Save for his obsession with the real estate sector and selling lands and making tall claims on constructing a Future City, Revanth Reddy did not know much about administration, he said.
Countering the Chief Minister’s comments that the BJP would not be allowed into Telangana, Arvind said that fact was that it was after Revanth Reddy assuming power that the BJP had grown in strength in the State.
“BJP has already stepped into Telangana. It is now beyond the capacity of Revanth Reddy and Rahul Gandhi to stop the BJP from growing further in Telangana,” said Arvind, who had in an earlier interview said that Chandrashekhar Rao had prevented the BJP from growing in Telangana, but with Revanth Reddy in power, the BJP was growing in strength.
Due to his inept governance, people were getting restless and would chase Congress leaders. Revanth Reddy was relying on diversion tactics to cover up his failures and had accordingly come up with HYDRAA, had a tiff with film personalities and created a row with UoH lands. If he continues in the same vein, the BJP would definitely come to power in Telangana, the MP said.
