Hyderabad: The BJP will be dealt a deadly blow in the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, former Deputy Chief Minister and MLC Kadiam Srihari said on Tuesday. The anti-BJP forces will unite in future and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will decide the TRS party’s role in this regard to oust the BJP from the Centre, he said.
Speaking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan, Srihari said the Modi-Shah duo will face a major defeat in Uttar Pradesh before their downfall in the general elections in 2024. He said the party had failed the people of the country on multiple occasions and people will not remain silent over its atrocities on farmers. “It is certain that there will be an anti-BJP wave in the coming elections in both Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. People will not spare the BJP in the elections,” he said.
The MLC said the BJP has joined hands with the corporate powers and selling public sector undertakings in the country which in turn has increased unemployment. He felt that the Centre’s decisions widened inequalities among the people. “The Narendra Modi government will announce financial packages to the States wherever the elections are held and abandons the remaining States to fend for themselves until next elections,” he said.
Fearing that TRS president Chandrashekhar Rao will rally the anti-BJP forces, Srihari said the BJP leadership was trying to create obstacles in State governance and administration. “The BJP leaders must stop such cheap politics. Instead, they should raise pending issues pertaining to Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act including Bayyaram Steel Factory and Tribal University with the union government, to get them sanctioned,” he said and advised union Minister G Kishan Reddy to use his influence and get national project status for Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation scheme.
MLC Pochampally Srinivas Reddy, MLA Dr Methuku Anand, former MLC M Sreenivas Reddy, along with Telangana Vikalangula Co-operative Corporation chairman Vasudeva Reddy and others were present.
