Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar has accused the BJP cadres of attempting to kill him while he was going to visit a medical college at Bachupally in Hyderabad recently.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, the Minister said around 200 BJP workers surrounded his convoy and tried to eliminate him. He said that the timely response of the personal security men, police and TRS workers saved him from the BJP workers.
Ajay Kumar further noted that the TRS workers maintained restraint as they believed in the law and did not want to take the law into their hands. ‘We would not be cowed down by the politics of violence unleashed by the BJP’, he said.
The Minister rubbished the remarks made by the CPI leader K Narayana, who in a video clip released to the media, wanted Ajay Kumar dismissed from the post for allegedly entering a polling booth to influence voters on GHMC election day.
‘The CPI leader, acting like a BJP worker, has levelled false charges against me’, Ajay Kumar said, adding that the CPI leader should act responsibly and ascertain facts before making public statements.
“I wonder when Narayana joined the BJP as he has been taking their side and making all false accusations. I wish to know whether Narayana supports BJP workers’ attack on me’, he asked.
