Warangal: District BJP president Ganta Ravi Kumar has accused Endowments Minister Konda Surekha of spreading misinformation for political gain.
He refuted the Minister’s allegation that the Centre had provided funds to Andhra Pradesh for the Godavari Pushkarams but was denying the same to Telangana.
Ravi Kumar stated that the Central Government has been extending interest-free loans to States for up to 50 years under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme.
“It is surprising that the Minister is unaware Telangana is also eligible to utilise SASCI funds, which can be directed toward tourism, infrastructure, connectivity, logistics development, and other sectors,” he said. He pointed out that Andhra Pradesh received Rs 93 crore under this scheme.
He further noted that the Telangana government is developing the Ramappa temple with Rs 73.74 crore from SASCI under the Tourism Sustainable Circuit Scheme, and Rs 68.10 crore has been sanctioned for the Somasila Wellness and Spiritual Retreat in Nallamala.
“It is absurd that Konda Surekha is criticising union Minister G Kishan Reddy without knowing these facts. She should verify the information and speak responsibly,” he added.
