Kothagudem: The District Collector Anudeep Durishetty directed engineering officials to issue notices to contractors for delay in executing integrated vegetable markets works in the district.

Speaking at a review meeting on Pattana Pragathi with Municipal Chairpersons and Commissioners here on Wednesday, he expressed anger the delay in the construction of integrated vegetable markets in different municipalities.

The Collector told the officials that the contractor should be blacklisted if he fails to expedite the works even after issuing the notice, adding the contractor will be prevented from taking up any government work in the future. He directed the officials to take steps to remove encroachments on footpaths.

The officials were instructed to take steps for the engagement of additional tankers for watering plants planted as part of Haritha Haram. Saplings have to be grown in nurseries locally so that there would be no need to procure saplings from outside. A report on types of saplings being grown in nurseries has to be submitted, the Collector suggested.

Though it was proposed to set up 104 Pattana Prakruthi Vanams in four municipalities, Kothagudem, Yellandu, Manugur and Paloncha, only 50 were developed so far. Steps to develop remaining parks soon. The works related to FSTPs should be expedited.

Measures to establish a public library at Paloncha have to be taken. Property tax collections have to be completed by March 15 and disciplinary action against the bill collectors who failed to achieve targets has to be taken, Durishetty said. In a teleconference on ‘Mana Ooru Mana Badi’ with educational, engineering, municipal and mandal special officers the Collector wanted reports on proposed infrastructure development works in 368 schools submitted by Thursday.

Field visits to the selected schools have to be made by concerned officials to prepare work estimates and reports have to be submitted by March 7. Lead District Manager and education department officials have to make coordinated efforts in opening bank accounts for schools, he added.
