Jeddah: Mangoes and yoga complement each other perfectly, serving as an excellent way to replenish electrolytes, natural sugars and muscle-soothing antioxidants.
Mangoes are deeply embedded in Indian tradition as a symbol of prosperity and hospitality. Nutritionally, the “King of Fruits” offers exceptional health benefits, serving as a powerhouse of vitamins, which were highlighted on Sunday evening in Saudi Arabia.
The Indian Consulate in Jeddah conducted a unique event that blended India’s popular fruit with its ancient wellness system, drawing interest from many Saudis.
The event, themed “India Wellness and Flavours”, saw Indian officials not only promoting the premium qualities of Indian mangoes but also explaining the harmonious blend of Yoga and Ayurveda, which strengthens the body while nurturing mental and emotional well-being.
Consul General Fahad Khan Suri said that in India, the mango is not merely a seasonal fruit but a vital part of holistic health.
Suri said Indian mangoes have earned a premium position in Saudi Arabia and the rest of the world for their rich tropical aroma, naturally sweet taste and premium texture.
He also spoke about Kesari, Banganapalle and Alphonso mangoes and their significance across the world.
The young diplomats demonstrated yoga asanas and different postures, impressing the audience, including foreign diplomats.
The Indian officials explained that from Ayurveda to Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy and Sowa-Rigpa, AYUSH brings together India’s diverse traditional healthcare systems, which have attracted the interest of many visitors from Saudi Arabia.
The officials also explained the visitor-friendly visa facilities for AYUSH and highlighted the various services that India offers to international visitors.
It is noteworthy that the number of Saudis and other Arabs adopting yoga is increasing. There is also a steady demand from visitors to Kottakkal in Kerala, which is known for Ayurvedic treatment and massage.
