Mancherial: Janahitha Seva Samithi, a Bellampalli-based voluntary organisation conducted a blood donation camp in Bellampalli on Sunday. MLA Durgam Chinnaiah was the chief guest of the event.
Chinnaiah praised the voluntary organisation for conducting the blood donation camp for patients of thalassaemia and sickle cell anemia. He requested everyone to come forward to donate blood for the hapless patients. He opined one could save the precious life of a person by donating blood. He appreciated members of Indian Red Cross Society’s Mancherial chapter.
Adepu Satheesh, founder president of the organisation said that 20 units of blood were raised during the camp and the blood would be used for the patients of the two diseases. He thanked those who voluntarily extended their blood for the cause. He felicitated Chinnaiah and other dignitaries for gracing the occasion. He said that the organisation was taking up a slew of social service activities including feeding the poor hit by the lockdown.
Kankanala Bhaskar Reddy, president of IRCS-Mancherial chapter, said that the blood bank was running out of stocks following extended Covid-19 lockdown. He sought the public to donate blood and save lives of patients of thalassaemia and sickle cell diseases. He expressed gratitude to Laxmi Prasanna hospitals for extending cooperation in organizing the camp.
Bellampalli Municipal vice-chairperson Battula Sudarshan, councilors Kommula Suresh, Gosika Ramesh, Janahita Seva Samithi’s Kampelli Vijay Kumar, treasurer Kodipelli Giriprasad, honorary president Nichakola Rajanna, members Godishela Sekhar, Panthangi Santosh, Sayaveni Mallesh, Ade Surender, Gattu Bheema Goud, Pudari Nagesh Goud, Palthepu Kumaraswamy, Mamidala Raviteja and Kamera Venkataswamy were present.
