Hyderabad: Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters has launched its second flagship ‘Origins’ store in Hyderabad, located in Banjara Hills, marking a significant expansion in one of India’s fastest-growing coffee markets.
The new outlet brings the brand’s immersive coffee experience to the city, offering customers an opportunity to explore India’s diverse coffee landscape. According to co-founder Shivam Shahi, Hyderabad is the only market where the company has opened two flagship stores within six months, reflecting strong consumer interest in specialty coffee.
The ‘Origins’ format focuses on showcasing rare micro-lots sourced from Indian estates, highlighting regional terroirs and diverse brewing techniques. A key feature is the Play Bar, where experimental coffee lots preserved at controlled temperatures are rotated monthly. These include unique offerings such as culture-fermented beans, wine barrel-aged coffees and produce sourced from emerging regions like Meghalaya.
Customers can experience multiple brewing methods, including Chemex and Syphon, alongside a Nitro Cold Brew tap serving nitrogen-infused single-origin coffee.
The store also introduces a chef-curated menu developed in collaboration with Auroni Mookerjee. The offering includes handmade pastas, gourmet sandwiches made with sourdough from Suchali’s Artisan Bakehouse, and desserts such as tiramisu and coconut berry lamington.
Designed as a community-focused space, the café will host cuppings, workshops and cultural events. With nine outlets already operational in Hyderabad since November, the company plans to open 10 more locations in the next six months.
