Boath MLA carries hanging ropes to protest erratic power supply in Adilabad

Boath MLA Anil Jadhav led farmers in laying siege to a power substation in Echoda, protesting erratic electricity supply for agriculture. He accused the Congress government of neglecting farmers and failing to fulfil poll promises made before coming to power.

Adilabad: Boath MLA Anil Jadhav said that farmers were being left with nothing and would soon be forced to die by suicide if meters were installed for agriculture power connections. He, along with farmers, laid siege to a power substation in Echoda on Friday, carrying hanging ropes as part of protests undertaken by the BRS against the government for failing to implement poll promises in its 1,000 days of rule.

Anil said the farmers and common people were facing serious difficulties ever since the Congress came into power. He expressed anger against the party for showing negligence in providing quality power for agricultural needs. He charged that it had duped the farmers by failing to supply electricity to the farming sector for 24 hours a day.

The legislator slammed the government for causing problems to farmers by imposing outages in power supply for agricultural needs. He recalled that farmers were getting quality power during the regime of the BRS, besides availing themselves of a slew of welfare schemes. He alleged that the Congress was dilly-dallying by not keeping its poll promises.

The farmers later cooked food and dined on the premises of the substation as part of the protest.
