Mahabubnagar: Former Health Minister C Laxma Reddy expressed outrage over the alleged decomposition of bodies at the mortuary of the 100-bed Government Hospital in Jadcherla, blaming the Congress government’s negligence for the appalling situation.

He criticised the government for failing to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the hospital, which provides essential medical and emergency services.

Laxma Reddy said the government had a moral responsibility to ensure that the bodies of deceased persons were handed over to their grieving families with dignity.

“Handing over decomposed bodies to grieving families due to sheer negligence is truly despicable,” he said.

Recalling previous incidents of alleged negligence at government hospitals, including stray dogs mauling bodies and disruptions in power supply, the former Minister said the authorities had failed to improve medical services and facilities despite repeated incidents.

He demanded that the government take immediate corrective measures, ensure uninterrupted power supply and improve medical services and infrastructure at the Jadcherla Government Hospital.
