Hyderabad: Devotees visiting a temple in Chevella were in for a shock on spotting a man’s body floating in the temple tank on Friday. Police suspect it to be a murder.
According to the police, locals alerted authorities after noticing the body in the pushkarini in the temple. Preliminary investigations indicate that unidentified persons attacked the victim on the head with a stick on Thursday night and later threw the body into the water in an apparent attempt to conceal the crime.
A wooden stick, clothes were recovered from the crime spot. The identity of the victim was to be established. Police have registered a case and took up investigation.
