Hyderabad: A month-long celebrations of Bonalu festivities concluded on Sunday. The festival was celebrated across the State on a grand scale especially in Hyderabad and its surroundings.
During the Aashada Masam, devotees throng temples to offer prayers and Bonams. Special prayers by Shiva Shaktis, prediction by Oracles, processions and dance by Potha Rajus were witnessed in city temples as part of Bonalu.
The final Bonam for this year was offered at Jagadamba Temple atop the Golconda Fort on Sunday. Scores of devotees thronged the temple and offered prayers.
Several people visited temples located in different parts of the city to offer Bonams and prayers. Simhavahini Sri Mahankali Devalayam in Lal Darwaza, Ujjaini Mahankali Temple in Secunderabad and Akkanna Madanna Temple in Hari Bowli were some of them.
Masks and sanitisers were provided by temple committees to the devotees and ahead of the festival, the State government had sanctioned Rs 15 crore for city temples to make arrangements for Bonalu celebrations.
