HYDERABAD: Punjab Kings left-arm spinner Harpreet Brar who took two wickets in his first over against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday night, said that the wicket was a big help for the seamers and even for the spinners.
In the post-match briefing after Punjab won the match, Brar said the spinners did a good job and that it wasn’t easy to bat.
“The total was good enough but the way Nihal (Wadhera) batted, he went to the end and won the match for us,” Brar said.
“He has been playing in the IPL for the last 2-3 years. He does well in the domestic as well. He played really well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T-20 national championship knock-outs very recently,” he said.
“I was ready to bowl because it was my first game of the season. I just had in mind that I have to do well for the team. Well, I didn’t know that I would bowl in the last over. But I got the chance and bowled a no-ball which was first in my IPL career,” Brar said.
“The boundaries that Nihal took reduced the pressure and made it easier,” he said. “The confidence of the bowlers has increased after tonight’s win and it will help us in the tournament,” Brar said.
