Boy accompanying mother, drowns in lake in Hyderabad
A six-year-old boy, Mohd Umair, drowned in Sunnam Cheruvu at Adibatla on Monday while following his mother near the lake. Despite her attempts to save him, Umair slipped into the water and drowned. Police have begun an investigation.
Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a six-year-old boy accidentally drowned in the Sunnam Cheruvu in Adibatla on the city suburbs on Monday evening.
Mohd Sarwar Ali and Ayesha Siddiqua of Karimnagar district had recently moved to Ashok Reddy Nagar Colony in Nadergul along with their son Mohd Umair and the family had been staying in a rented house.
According to the police, the incident occurred when Umair’s mother was walking near the lake and the boy following her, accidentally fell into the water.
Despite his mother’s efforts to rescue him, Umair drowned. Locals alerted the Adibatla police, who, along with fire personnel, reached the spot and retrieved the body. Case is under investigation.
