Brain-dead borewell businessman’s organs donated to three needy patients in Hyderabad
The family of 43-year-old borewell businessman Gatla Venkateshwar Reddy donated his two kidneys and liver after he was declared brain dead following a road accident. The donation helped three needy patients and took Telangana’s Jeevandan brain-dead donations this year to 155.

Hyderabad: Family members of 43-year-old Gatla Venkateshwar Reddy, a borewell businessman from Vasavi Colony, Saroornagar, who was declared brain dead, have donated his organs to needy patients under the State-run Jeevandan organ donation initiative.
On September 28, Venkateshwar Reddy was travelling on his two-wheeler when an unknown four-wheeler hit him. He suffered grievous injuries in the accident and was shifted by his family members to a private hospital in Hyderabad.
Despite the doctors’ best efforts, his condition did not improve and he was declared brain dead on Wednesday, September 30. His wife, Gatla Swarna, gave consent to donate his two kidneys and liver, helping three needy patients.
Jeevandan Telangana expressed its profound gratitude to Gatla Venkateshwar Reddy’s family, whose noble decision has helped save lives. With this, the Jeevandan initiative in Telangana has recorded 155 brain-dead donations this year.
