Hyderabad: The family of a 64-year-old farmer from Nizampet, Geedi Bhooma Goud, who was declared brain dead, donated his organs to needy patients under state-run Jeevandan organ donation initiative.

According to Jeevandan, on June 7, Bhooma Goud collapsed at his home due to a sudden rise in blood pressure. The family members shifted him to a private hospital in Hyderabad for emergency treatment.

With no improvement in his health, the doctors declared him brain-dead on June 10. His son, Sai Ram, made the decision to donate his kidneys, liver, corneas and help five needy patients.

Jeevandan Telangana has extended its gratitude to Geedi Bhooma Goud family, whose noble decision has saved lives of five persons.
