Hyderabad: Two men were allegedly branded as thieves, tied up and thrashed before having their heads tonsured in Shamshabad on the city outskirts.
The incident occurred at Ahmed Nagar area on Saturday.
Police said the two men, Mohd Quddus and Khaja, who were allegedly found moving suspiciously, were mistaken to be battery thieves and caught by local residents.
They tied them up to an electric pole and beat them up and then tonsured their heads.
On receiving information, the RGIA police reached the spot and rescued them. A complaint was lodged on Sunday and a case was booked.
Police said they were yet to identify those involved in the incident.
