The alumni association led by its president Saka Venkateswarlu condemned the government decision stating the university has been extending quality higher education to economically weaker sections and women in the State with a nominal fee structure.

The BRAOU Joint Action Committee comprising teaching, non-teaching and technical staff extended support to the alumni association protest. The university requires huge amounts of land for its expansion and creating infrastructure on the campus, the JAC said and demanded the government roll back its decision to allot 10 acres of BRAOU land to JNAFAU.

JAC chairman Prof. Vaddanam Srinivas said allocation of the university’s land to other institutions meant preventing the reach of higher education and distance education in the State.
