Kolkata: An Air India flight from San Francisco to Mumbai faced a technical snag in one of its engines, forcing all passengers to deplane during a scheduled halt at Kolkata airport early on Tuesday.

Flight AI180 landed on time at 12:45 am, but a problem in the left engine caused a delay in its onward journey.

At around 5:20 am, an announcement was made onboard instructing all passengers to disembark.

The captain informed passengers that the decision was taken in the interest of flight safety.
