Hyderabad: Kolkata Knight Riders rallied to beat Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs in their previous game in IPL and captain Dinesh Karthik was hailed for holding West Indies’ spinner Sunil Narine for the back end of the innings.

However, former Australian cricketer Brett Lee feels that holding him for later stage could have backfired. He blamed CSK for throwing away the match from such a comfortable position.

Narine, who came to bowl in the 11th over, picked up a wicket conceding 31 runs. “KKR got away with it against CSK and I think CSK threw it away. I don’t think holding Narine back is the best thing. It worked against CSK but I don’t think it’s the blueprint for KKR,” Brett Lee said. After the match, Dinesh Karthik lauded Narine and said he was one of the key members of their squad and always trusted him in tough conditions.
