Mancherial: Even as the southwest monsoon was expected to be delayed by four days, a brief drizzle brought cheer to people in Mancherial town on Tuesday.
The IMD predicted that the onset of the monsoon would occur between June 2 and 4, against the usual arrival of the weather system on June 1. However, parts of the town witnessed a brief spell of drizzle, delighting the people. The showers brought down the scorching heat wave conditions, offering respite to the public.
The maximum temperature in the district was oscillating between 44 degrees Celsius and 46 degrees Celsius over the last few days. Velganoor in Dandepalli registered the highest temperature of 46.4 degrees Celsius on Monday. People remained indoors due to the prolonged sweltering heat wave conditions.
