Sangareddy: BRS Patancheru coordinator V Adarsh Reddy on Monday accused the Congress and BJP of conspiring to shut down the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) permanently under the guise of a CBI probe.
The BRS organised a protest in Patancheru following the Congress government’s decision to hand over the case to the CBI. Addressing the party cadre, Adarsh Reddy said former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had built KLIP with a vision to transform agriculture in Telangana, but the Congress was attempting to gain political mileage by spreading false narratives.
BRS workers wore black masks and carried placards during the protest, while similar demonstrations were held across the erstwhile Medak district.
Zaheerabad MLA K Manik Rao warned that protests would be intensified unless the government withdrew its decision on the CBI inquiry.
He added that farmers were in distress, standing in queues for long hours without anyone addressing their problems. In Chinnakodur of Siddipet constituency, BRS leaders burnt the effigy of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
