Hyderabad: BRS Assembly whip KP Vivekananda criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for running a corrupt government through threats and extortion. He said the Ministers were competing among themselves to collect money using intimidation and influence.

Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday, Vivekananda said the recent controversy involving Minister Konda Surekha’s family exposed the gun culture within the government. The Chief Minister and the Ministers were collecting money by threatening people with guns. “Revanth Reddy tops the list, followed by Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka,” he added.

Contrasting the situation with the BRS government’s record, he said under former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership, Hyderabad became an international city, maintained law and order and created over seven lakh private jobs.

The BRS legislator also criticised AIMIM for its double standards, stating that the party was supporting the Congress in Telangana, while siding with the BJP in Bihar. “Asaduddin Owaisi once called Revanth Reddy an RSS man. Now he supports the same Chief Minister,” he said.

He exuded confidence that Jubilee Hills voters would support BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha, adding that the people were willing to appreciate Maganti Gopinath’s service to the constituency. MLC Shambhipur Raju was also present.
