Medak: Tension prevailed in Medak town on Saturday as leaders from both the BRS and BJP staged protests against the Endowments Department’s move to take over the administration of Kodanda Ramalayam.

The department had recently issued orders to assume control of the temple. When officials arrived to implement the directive, former MLA Padma Devender Reddy, along with other BRS leaders, opposed the move and staged a protest by squatting on the road. She was taken into custody and later released.

Later, BJP leaders, led by Medak MP M Raghunandan Rao, also joined the protest, demanding immediate withdrawal of the government order.

Despite the opposition, Endowments officials seized the temple hundi and formally assumed administrative control of the temple complex.
