Adilabad: Several BRS leaders and cadre were placed under house arrest on Monday following a call given by farmers to lay siege to the State Assembly at Echoda mandal centre on Monday.
BRS Echoda mandal president Krishna Reddy and former Mukhra (K) MPTC member Gadge Subhash and others were detained at their houses and later shifted to a police station. They were arrested following a call given on Sunday by farmers stating that they would lay siege to the Assembly if Rythu Bharosa benefit was not released immediately.
Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Reddy vowed to continue their fight against the government on behalf of the farmers. He alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was duping farmers by delaying the initiative and demanded that the State government release the benefit in a single installment instead of a phased manner as announced by the government.
