BRS cadres detained ahead of Deputy CM Vikramarka’s district tour
BRS cadres were detained across the district ahead of Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s tour on Thursday. The Opposition accused the government of suppressing dissent, while tribals criticised officials for shutting the weekly bazaar at Jainoor mandal during the visit.

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: BRS cadres were detained in different parts of the district in view of Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s tour to the district on Thursday.
The cadres were detained and shifted to local police stations in Jainoor and Sirpur (U) and many other parts of the district considering Vikramarka’s tour. They raised slogans against the deputy Chief Minister. They said that the government was suppressing the voice of the Opposition parties using the police department.
Meanwhile, a weekly bazaar and commercial establishments were closed for two hours in Jainoor mandal centre causing inconvenience to tribals who gathered to purchase essentials, following the tour. The tribals criticised officials for shutting down the market and shops during the deputy Chief Minister’s programme.
Vikramarka was scheduled to attend programmes at Jangaon and Busimetta villages in Jainoor and Modi village of Kerameri mandals before participating in a review meeting with district authorities at Integrated District Officers Complex in Asifabad on Thursday. He will then participate in Praja Darbar or grievance redressal programme at the ongoing Nagoba Jatara in Keslapur village in Indervelli mandal.
