Mancherial: BRS cadres slammed the government for arresting BRS leader Balka Suman in connection with his recent remarks against authoritarianism and political vendetta. They protested condemning Suman’s arrest in different parts of the district on Sunday.

The protesting cadres burt an effigy of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and staged sit-ins across Chennur Assembly constituency. The cadres burned the effigy of Revanth Reddy in Bheemaram mandal centre, while traffic was blocked on national highways in Chennur, Kyathanpalli and Mandamarri towns. They raised slogans against the government and Revanth.

The cadres said that the political interference went up in administration of SCCL during the rule of the Congress. In an unwelcoming sign, the SCCL has become a haven for scams. The coal major was struggling to pay salaries of coal miners due to unprecedented corruption, the cadres opined. They said that remarks of Sumn were misinterpreted.

The BRS leaders and activists demanded the government to withdraw the case and release him immediately. They said that the Congress was running a false propaganda against Suman to damage his popularity gained through winning the Kyathanpalli municipality. They stated that Revanth targeted Suman and was using police to harass him using petty issues.
