BRS cadres slam govt for delaying road work in Asifabad
Former Sirpur (T) MLA Koneru Konappa and BRS cadres staged a sit-in on Thursday protesting the delay in construction of a double-lane road between Kothmir and Pesarigunta villages in Dahegaon mandal and warned of a larger agitation.
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Former Sirpur (T) MLA Koneru Konappa slammed the State government for delaying the formation of a road between Kothmir and Pesarigunta villages in Dahegaon mandal. He, along with BRS cadres, staged a sit-in on the Kagaznagar-Dahegaon road, protesting against the delay on Thursday.
Former Sirpur (T) MLA Koneru Konappa said that a double-lane road was sanctioned in 2023, but the work was stalled due to the model code of conduct that came into force during the Assembly polls. He alleged that the government was not showing interest in resuming the work. He faulted local MLA Dr Harish Babu for failing to address the problem.
He warned that a massive protest would be launched if the government did not restart the work within a week. He said that motorists were facing inconvenience in reaching their destinations on the road. He added that the road between the two villages becomes slushy once the region receives rains. He attributed the plight to the negligence of the executing agency.
