Kothagudem: A constituency-level preparatory meeting for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ Constituency MLC election was held at Dammapet in the district on Monday.
The meeting was chaired by former MLA and BRS constituency in-charge Mecha Nageswara Rao. Constituency-level voter registration in-charge Uppala Venkata Ramana, BRS state leader Anugula Rakesh Reddy and party functionaries from five mandals attended the meeting.
Addressing the gathering, Nageswara Rao urged party leaders and workers to speed up the voter registration process. He called on them to work diligently to register eligible graduates as voters and ensure Rakesh Reddy’s victory in the election.
He stressed that mandal-level leaders must actively participate in the drive by reaching out to graduates, government and private-sector employees, teachers, lawyers and other professionals.
Venkata Ramana said people in the State wanted a change and expressed a desire for former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to return to power. He said many issues could be resolved if an intellectual such as Rakesh Reddy was elected.
He cautioned graduates against trusting the Congress, claiming that doing so would lead to their ruin. He urged party leaders to coordinate their efforts and work towards defeating the Congress through Rakesh Reddy’s victory.
Rakesh Reddy expressed confidence that the BRS would win the Graduates’ MLC election. He said that despite losing the previous election, he had continued to engage with people and work to resolve their grievances.
He urged party leaders and workers to remain vigilant and ensure that no lapses occurred during voter registration. He also alleged that the ruling Congress might use its financial strength to influence voters.
