Karimnagar: Vijay Diwas was celebrated on a grand scale across the erstwhile Karimnagar district by BRS activists on Tuesday.

MLAs, district presidents and party workers participated in celebrations held in Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jagtial and Rajanna-Sircilla districts. BRS workers paid tributes to Telangana martyrs and performed palabhishekam to portraits of Telangana Thalli.

District president G V Ramakrishna Rao, town president Challa Harishankar and others took part in the event at Telangana Chowk in Karimnagar, while Korutla MLA Dr K Sanjay Kumar participated in Korutla town. Peddapalli district president Korukanti Chander joined the celebrations at Godavarikhani.

Speaking on the occasion, leaders said December 9 marked a milestone in the separate Telangana agitation, recalling that the then union government announced commencement of the process for formation of a separate State following the fast-unto-death by BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao.
