Hyderabad: A BRS delegation led by Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council S Madhusudhana Chari on Monday lodged a complaint with the State Chief Electoral Officer, alleging that the Congress party was violating the Model Code of Conduct in the Jubilee Hills by-election.
In a written petition, the BRS leaders, led by Opposition Leader S Madhusudhana Chari, sought the immediate revocation of permission granted for a public meeting proposed to be held at Yousufguda Police Grounds on Tuesday in the name of film union workers. They said the event was politically motivated and intended to influence voters ahead of the bypoll.
The BRS leaders demanded that a criminal case be registered against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and that action be initiated against Congress candidate Naveen Yadav for violating election rules.
