BRS condemns alleged police attack on Vinay Bhaskar at Warangal hospital

BRS leaders condemned the alleged police attack on former MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar at MGM Hospital in Warangal and demanded an investigation. They accused the Congress government of targeting Opposition leaders and sought action against the police personnel involved.

Hyderabad: BRS leaders condemned the alleged police attack on former MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar at MGM Hospital in Warangal on Tuesday. They demanded an investigation into the attack and action against the personnel responsible.

Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, former Minister V Srinivas Goud said Vinay Bhaskar went to the hospital to assess the condition of patients after portions of the ceiling fell. He alleged that police deliberately stopped and assaulted the former MLA. He demanded that the DGP take immediate action.

He accused the government of diverting attention from farmers’ issues and alleged that irrigation water was not being released to the Jurala ayacut despite the availability of water. He said BRS leaders would again visit Jurala if the gates were not opened.

Former Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao said the government was responsible for the incident and alleged that police were trying to silence Opposition voices. He urged BRS workers to remain courageous and wished Vinay Bhaskar a speedy recovery.

Former Minister S Niranjan Reddy demanded departmental action against the police personnel involved. He alleged that the incident represented a new anarchic culture under the Congress government, destroying the democratic spirit of the nation.

Former Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy lashed out at the Congress government and the State police for acting inhumanly and attacking Vinay Bhaskar, who served as a four-time MLA and government chief whip. He slammed the government for politicising even the BRS leaders attempting to console the victims at the hospital and registering cases against them. He demanded that the government apologise for the attack and withdraw the cases against Vinay Bhaskar and other BRS leaders.

BRS Parliamentary party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra found fault with the police for the alleged assault and insult to the former MLA. He criticised the ruling Congress for its negligence in ensuring maintenance of the hospital. He demanded that the Chief Minister, who also holds the Home portfolio, take responsibility and initiate action against the officials responsible.
