Hyderabad: The attack on BRS working president KT Rama Rao‘s vehicle by the Congress workers in Musheerabad on Tuesday has sparked widespread condemnation from senior BRS leaders, who called the incident an act of political hooliganism. They demanded swift action against the attackers, holding the Congress government responsible for creating an environment of fear and political vendetta.

Rama Rao’s vehicle, en route to meet the victims of the Musi Riverfront Project, was targeted by Congress supporters at Musheerabad, raising concerns about political violence in Telangana.

Apart from senior MLA T Harish Rao, former Minister G Jagadish Reddy slammed the Congress for orchestrating the attack with police complicity. Jagadish Reddy who accompanied Rama Rao, said traffic signals were deliberately changed to enable the Congress mob target their convoy.

“If the main opposition party’s working president is not safe, what message does that send? We demand a full investigation. The consequences will be dire if the culprits are not brought to justice,” he warned.

Former Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy decried the attack as a sign of Congress’s growing insecurity and fear of public backlash.

“The Congress government has failed the people, and now they resort to violence against those who stand for public issues. This attack is undemocratic and exposes their inability to answer the people’s questions,” he said.

Former Minister S Niranjan Reddy expressed outrage at the violent tactics employed by the Congress party to discourage the opposition leaders from meeting the affected families. “Is this a party of governance or a party of rioters? Attacking Rama Rao for standing with the victims shows how desperate the Congress leaders have become. BRS will not back down from such provocations,” he said.
