Hyderabad: BRS leaders have strongly condemned what they describe as a politically motivated conspiracy by the state government against K.T. Rama Rao‘s brother-in-law, Raj Pakala.
In a statement, they questioned whether it is a crime in Telangana to celebrate any social function with family members. They clarified that the function was not held at a farmhouse but at Raj Pakala’s residence, where he lives with his family, including his mother, brothers, and grandchildren. The attendees ranged in age from two years to 70 years old.
The leaders called the incident an attempt to defame Raj Pakala and questioned the portrayal of the family gathering as a rave party. They accused the Chief Minister of orchestrating the raid and sending police to forcefully enter the house, causing extreme mental anguish to the elderly, women, and children present. Videos were taken with phones and cameras and directly posted on Congress-sponsored social media platforms.
The BRS leaders argued that if there was anything wrong, the police should have released the visuals, but instead, it was done by the Chief Minister’s Public Relations Officer. They accused the government of magnifying the issue to discredit the family function and defame Rama Rao.
They also claimed that both Congress and BJP leaders were suffering from “KTR Syndrome” and “KCR Phobia” due to Rama Rao’s vocal criticism of the Congress government’s misdeeds. They alleged that the BJP leaders, who had been silent on such issues, began to make a hue and cry when it involved Rama Rao as part of a conspiracy between the two parties.
The BRS leaders accused the government of attempting to plant false evidence to discredit Rama Rao by searching his house, which was unrelated to the issue. They argued that the Chief Minister himself was carrying out illegal activities in the name of searches and reminded the public that Revanth Reddy was previously found with bundles of notes and jailed.
Despite the government’s conspiracies, the BRS leaders vowed to continue questioning the government on behalf of the people. They emphasized that the people were watchful of everything and accused Revanth Reddy of deriving sadistic pleasure by sending police to disturb a family function and embarrass women.
They clarified that the foreign liquors seized in the incident were duty-free liquors, which every citizen on a foreign trip could buy legally. They criticized the comparison to the smuggling of costly wristwatches by Congress Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy‘s son, which evaded crores of rupees in import duty. The liquor bottles mentioned in the police panchnama were available in every liquor shop in the city and were sold with the permission of the Excise Department.
Additionally, they pointed out that the person who failed the drug test had returned from the Netherlands only two days ago and had shown his passport to support his foreign trip.
