Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Monday refuted reports that party president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was performing the Chandi Yagam at his residence in Erravelli.
The party clarified that no such ritual was being conducted and no official statement had been issued by Chandrashekhar Rao’s office, the BRS, or any affiliated wing regarding the event.
In a statement, the BRS chief’s office condemned sections of the media for publishing unverified reports and spreading misinformation in an attempt to tarnish Chandrashekhar Rao’s image.
“It is highly irresponsible for media houses claiming to be reputable to circulate such baseless news without even verifying facts,” the statement said.
The BRS urged all newspaper publishers and TV channel editors to remove the false reports from their platforms immediately. It also reiterated that any news concerning Chandrashekhar Rao must be verified with his office or Public Relations Officer before publication and cautioned against the circulation of misleading content.
