Hyderabad: The BRS has challenged the Congress government to dissolve the Assembly and face mid-term elections instead of asking Opposition Leader and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to quit. It questioned the ruling Congress’s achievements during its 1,000 days in office and demanded that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy apologise and resign over unfulfilled promises.

Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday, former MLA Ravindra Kumar said the Chief Minister’s speech at Nakrekal had offered nothing to the erstwhile Nalgonda district and alleged that the meeting was used mainly to target BRS leaders personally. He rejected the demand for Chandrashekhar Rao’s resignation and instead called for the entire Congress government to resign and seek a fresh mandate.

“Let the people decide who deserves how many marks,” he said, while accusing the Congress of misusing its mandate.

Former MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah alleged that the Chief Minister’s speech was filled with abuses against BRS leaders instead of new announcements for the Nakrekal constituency. He questioned the government over the discontinuation of Rythu Bima and the dilution of Rythu Bandhu and fee reimbursement, and alleged neglect of projects in Nalgonda. He also challenged the Chief Minister to a debate in Kodangal on the Congress government’s pending promises.

Former MLA K Prabhakar Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister was targeting the BRS chief to please his Andhra Pradesh mentors and said Telangana had received neither adequate water nor funds under the present government. He criticised Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy over the delayed release of water in Nalgonda district and warned of protests if water was not released from Dindi.
