Karimnagar: Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar demanded that the district administration take criminal action against those who allegedly manipulated the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation voter list overnight. He also urged officials to announce the original voter list.
In this regard, Kamalakar submitted a representation to the Collector here on Tuesday. Later, speaking to reporters, the MLA alleged that, scared of facing the BRS in the election, both the Congress and the BJP were indulging in illegal practices. Though the original voter list was available on Monday night, it was changed after midnight. His house, which falls under the 52nd Division, was shifted to the 53rd Division. This, he alleged, was part of a conspiracy to deny reservations to SCs, STs and BCs.
Why were the Congress and the BJP not responding despite mistakes in the voter list, he questioned. He said that when he contacted the municipal commissioner in the morning, the official admitted that there were mistakes in the voter list and promised to rectify them.
The Collector also has assured him that the mistakes would be corrected, Kamalakar said.
