Hyderabad: BRS leader and former MP B Vinod Kumar raised strong objections to the removal of Telangana’s reservation quota in Sainik schools located in Andhra Pradesh. He warned the State and Central governments of legal action if the quota is not restored. He urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to rush to Delhi and get the order reversed immediately.

Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, Vinod Kumar said about 67 per cent reservation was provided to students from both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in Korukonda and Kalikiri Sainik schools, during admissions. “But now, the quota has been fully allocated to Andhra Pradesh. This is a grave injustice to Telangana students,” he said.

He criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for inaction, stating that the latter mocked his earlier letter demanding a Sainik school for Telangana. “What happened to the promise of a Sainik school in Bollaram? There is still not a single Sainik school in our State, while Andhra Pradesh has four,” he said. He slammed Telangana’s Congress and BJP MPs, questioning their failure to raise their voice against such a grave injustice.

Reiterating BRS’s commitment to national security, Vinod Kumar said the party supports Operation Sindoor and all decisive action against terrorism. “The terror camps in Pakistan must be destroyed completely,” he asserted.

Former MLA Gongidi Sunitha, former MLC Pathuri Sudhakar Reddy, and BRSV President Gellu Srinivas Yadav were also present.
