Hyderabad: BRS leader Y Satish Reddy on Tuesday demanded that the Election Commission immediately revoke the voting rights of Congress leader Naveen Yadav from Jubilee Hills for allegedly distributing voter ID cards in violation of the election code. He said while Rahul Gandhi preaches constitutional values and free and fair elections, Congress leaders in Telangana were misusing power for their own benefit.
Satish Reddy said the act of distributing voter cards, which is the sole prerogative of the Election Commission, exposed Congress’s double standards and disrespect for law. “The Congress party talks about democracy but practices deceit. If the Election Commission is impartial, it must disqualify Naveen Yadav and remove him from the voter list,” he said, warning that allowing such violations would set a dangerous precedent ahead of the elections.
