BRS extends support to ‘Chalo Secretariat’ protest by jobless youth in Telangana

BRS senior leader Harish Rao extended full support to unemployed youth protesting against the Congress government’s failure to deliver on job promises. He assured action in the Assembly and pledged solidarity with youth planning the “Chalo Secretariat” protest in Telangana.

Hyderabad: Sharing the concerns of unemployed youth let down by the Congress government, BRS senior leader and MLA T Harish Rao assured full support from the party for their upcoming protest programmes.

A delegation of job aspirants and student activists met him at Telangana Bhavan and poured out their grievances regarding unfulfilled job-related promises by the Congress regime. Emotions ran high as the youth recounted how they felt betrayed after being given false hopes.

The group, visibly frustrated, demanded the release of a comprehensive job calendar and the immediate filling of two lakh government vacancies, as promised during the election campaign. Coming together under the banner of “Hello Unemployed, Chalo Secretariat,” they urged support from BRS President K Chandrashekar Rao and other opposition forces.

Speaker after speaker accused the Revanth Reddy-led government of misleading the youth with hollow assurances while delaying notifications and claiming credit for jobs created under the previous administration.

Youth leaders such as Ravi Rathod, Motilal Naik, Sindhu, Jhansi Rani, and Ganesh voiced their frustration over the government’s failure to deliver on its promises. They pointed out that only 11,000 jobs had been delivered so far—far short of the 60,000 claimed and a fraction of the two lakh jobs promised.

They also raised concerns over irregularities in the Group-I recruitment process, delays in the Mega DSC teacher recruitment, and the pending AE recruitment in the Electricity Department. Several youth slammed Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and TJS chief Prof. Kodandaram, for making lofty campaign promises and going silent after the elections.

In a show of solidarity, Harish Rao assured them that the BRS would extend full support to their upcoming Secretariat protest. He said the fight for employment rights must transcend political lines.

He reiterated that BRS was founded on the principle of addressing people’s aspirations, and that justice for job seekers remains central to the party’s mission.

Calling for accountability, Harish Rao said he would raise the issue of the job calendar, recruitment irregularities, and vacant government positions in the upcoming Assembly session.

“We will not remain silent when Telangana’s youth are forced to take to the streets for what is their rightful due,” he declared
